Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
Since 1st October 2006 the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order-
RRO has been in force, and is based on a comprehensive risk
assessment.

Enforcement
Fire Safety Officers are now under direct pressure from Central
Government to 'enforce' the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order
2005. This marks a change from the more helpful times before this
new legislation.
Not meeting statutory requirements, like having acceptable Fire
Risk Assessments, is liable to result in a summons.
Risk Assessments have in fact been required since 1997, so are
not a recent innovation.
